Certified Ecological Coffin
Over the last decade, a more responsible ecological awareness has been defining the development and innovation priorities of various economic actors.
In line with this new market behaviour, the funerary urns industry developed a new brand – CNUF® – Certified Ecological Coffin – created with the aim of ensuring the manufacture of environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible funerary urns, with the advantage of protecting the ecosystem of cemetery soils, groundwater and the earth’s atmosphere.
The CNUF® brand was created as part of the activities of the AIMMP – Associação das Indústrias de Madeira e Mobiliário de Portugal – an association representing the forestry industry in conjunction with the Conselho Nacional dos Fabricantes de Urnas Funerárias (CNUF), a group of leading companies in the sector.

The Value Of Certification
CNUF® is a registered trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) under registration number 013143474 and owned by the AIMMP.
This certification system was developed to ensure compliance with the requirements established for greater ecological and environmental responsibility in the production of funerary urns, with respect to materials and control of production processes.
To ensure the reliability of this certification system, the CNUF® brand has a reputable and independent certification company, guaranteeing that all producers of the brand comply with the same procedures, processes and materials incorporated, thus ensuring a high standard of quality and biodegradability.
